In the year 1066 AD William the Conqueror invaded England from France and took the English throne. This event is mentioned in "Alice in Wonderland'. Some believe the Pope was behind this. England was already a catholic country and the protestant reformation was centuries away, so what was 'wrong' with England that the Pope wanted fixed? Some think a representative form of government had begun to develop and the Pope wanted it destroyed. This has been repeated hundreds of times throughout history. Liberalism, democracy, is the enemy of the catholic church. It doesn't matter if you're catholic, protestant, black, white, Asian, or whatever, no government by the people will exist. No one with property or money can be left alone if they don't believe in a totalitarian form of government. Spain has always been one of the most catholic countries in the world yet it hosted the Inquisition for decades. When the second Spanish Republic was formed in 1931 the peasants dug up the graves of nuns and priests and killed many. Centuries of oppression came to the surface. I think John F Kennedy's mind was 'infected' by the Yankee spirit and this is why he died and it was probably the church that killed him. There are people in this country who believe it would have been better if the South won the Civil War. I don't think it matters. It was going to wind up this way no matter who won. The war didn't get to the root of the problem. The catholic church.
1984 was real in 1898. I don't know who said this or who they said it to but I'm reasonably sure it happened. Someone who owned a lot of newspapers in 1898 said to someone in power 'You provide the army and I'll provide the war'. His papers made a big deal over the bombing of the Maine in Havana harbor and the Spanish American War was under way. Spain had become very weak and it's possessions were ripe for the taking. The newspapers made the case they needed help being free. They would have done just fine without any help. Instead they were oppressed for another 100 years. The medias manipulation of the masses really got a boost in 1915 when the movie "Birth Of A Nation" was released. This movie single handedly revived the Ku Klux Klan and led to another 50 years of black oppression in America.
