Fall of the Roman Republic

I have been studying the fall of the Roman republic. Why were there 2 triumvirates with 3 generals each time? Is this some sort of love triangle pyramid strategy? Did the first one fail with the death of Caesar? If at first you don't succeed try try again? Was all the world a stage long before Shakespeare? What happens to a society when the only opportunity for the people at the bottom is the military? Does the poem "Metemorphoses" expose how catholic priests manipulate people into rolling stone Is rolling stone an alternative to the military? They don't care about the people at the bottom.
